December 24, 2008 - Merry Christmas to everyone! This is the first year is more than I can count that I'm not making the journey to Wisconsin for Christmas. This is also the first year since 2004 that Scott & I will be together on Christmas day. I am excited about watching Khris trying to open gifts (or maybe just rip paper & then trying to eat the paper). It will be a fun day! Hopefully, if the weather holds out, my parents will be able to come visit us for a couple days after Christmas & I'm looking forward to that as well. It's been hard for me to get into the "Christmas spirit" this year. We lost a truly wonderful, dearly loved family member recently. Grandma Waterman (my dad's mom) passed away on December 13. She didn't want us to make a 'fuss' so she wrote her own obituary and specified that there was to be no visitation or funeral service. Some time in January we are going to have a party to celebrate her life, which will give us all time to mourn her passing in our own time/way ... plus we are not going against her wishes since she never said "no party"! |
