Personally, I chose to play female highelf cleric named Canalily.  I arrived at the name Canalily because I love flowers and when I was creating my cleric I wanted her name to be that of a flower. My favorite flowers are lilies and the most feminine sounding lily is Calla Lily (other than Lily, which SOE wouldn't let me have) ... but I thought it still sounded a bit too hard (harsh) for the character I wanted to play. After writing down many variations I finally arrived at Canalily, found that it sounded rather melodic when spoken and was pleasing to my eye.

Canalily is in a once very active guild, Phoenix Ascendant, but she didn't start out there.

Just after Canalily was "born" in the lands of Norrath she met a young bard.  The two of them spent much time together the first week of Canalily's life as she explored her home land of Greater Faydark and gained several levels of experience in battle the scourge of the forest, the dreaded Orcs.  During this time she received guidance in the art of healing from the greatest "Battle cleric" to ever roam the lands of Norrath.  His name was Kelverse ~ a very patient person, always willing to teach his budding protégé and offer encouragement when she needed it.   Soon, though, she received word that her bard friend had ventured across the ocean to a distant place called Qeynos Hills and was helping the people of the hills rid the lands of a violent preditor, the Gnolls, in an odd cave that had been named Blackburrow.  In his message he urged Canalily to follow him, so after a short debate with her sister who was headed off on an adventure of her own, Canalily took the same trip across the ocean and was soon tending to the wounded in the cave known as Blackburrow.

It was during her time in Blackburrow that she met a charming rogue named Onimuro.  The two became nearly inseperable.  Onimuro was co-founder and co-leader of a guild called Order of Loki.  December fo 2001, after a couple of months getting to know the kind and generous person that Onimuro is, Canalily joined the ranks of Order of Loki.  By April of 2002 she had been given the task of creating a new website for the guild, as well as keeping track of new members.  It was while being in Loki that Canalily met the equally charming rogue, Thantos.  Around July of 2002 the other co-leader, Nadinae, left the guild.  Onimuro was found online less and less, so the three of them, Onimuro, Thantos and Canalily, worked together to keep the guild running.  There was almost always something going on as far as guild activity, as the guild was a member of an alliance of other guilds of both similar size and philosophy.  For the better part of 6 months Canalily acted in Onimuro's stead without having the official title of "Guild Leader" and this was ok with her.  Things went along fairly smoothly until January of 2003, when Onimuro announced that he was leaving EverQuest and named Canalily as guild leader.  Thinking that she would still be able to count on Thantos being in the guild, Canalily accepted the role.  Her panic level reached an unhealthy level later that month when Thantos confided in her that he was also leaving Loki.

After much thought and soul-searching, she came to the realization that she wanted to be where Thantos was and share in the same experience, and that was not the kind of leader that Loki needed.  Canalily called a guild meeting and had the members vote in a new leader.  For a time, Canalily remained a member of the Order of Loki, but felt a great tension between the new leader's wife and herself.  This tension became to great for Canalily and she knew that it was not healthy for the guild either, so she quietly disbanded from Loki and traveled the lands of Norrath is quiet solitude for a time.  Thantos had joined Phoenix Ascendant in March 2003 and by May of 2003 Canalily had joined him there.
