TC aka "Terror Cat" came to me in 2001. Her name was Kippens, but after hearing her screech and howl and let out sounds that only jungle cats can make, I decided that TC was a better fit. She had originally belonged to a friend of one of my co-workers. When he got married the new wife said "NO WAY" to the cat, so another of my co-workers took her in. TC had been mistreated by one of the original owners friends and she just didn't trust men at all and my co-worker couldn't get close enough to touch her... he was talking about having her put down because she was so wild. Well, I just couldn't let that happen, so took her in myself. Getting her to my house was an adventure because we had to trap her in a spare room and I finally wound up throwing a towel over her and enduring the scratches and bites to get her in the pet carrier. I think it's a good thing for both of us that I'm so stubborn! She warmed up to Scott fairly quickly, but still doesn't trust most men. She lived in a cage because she seemed more comfortable there, but we would let her out until she started getting aggressive, either with us or the other animals. In June of 2006 TC died ... I felt horrible that she died while in my care (still do) - in retrospect I gave her 5 years of love and attention that she might never have received.
